Eastern Dune Sea

The Eastern Dune Sea, situated on Tatooine, was an immense and desolate sandy region. It lay to the east of both the Anchorhead settlement and the greater Dune Sea. This area served as the territory of a perilous and highly territorial group of Sand People, in addition to being inhabited by wild banthas and dewbacks. The ancient Infinite Empire of the Rakata constructed a temple within its bounds between 30,000 BBY and 25,200 BBY to safeguard a valuable Star Map.

In 3956 BBY, Revan journeyed to Tatooine seeking the Star Map. He aided Iziz in return for directions to the cave's location. Simultaneously, the bounty hunter Komad Fortuna was actively pursuing the dragon itself. After Komad's companion met their end at the dragon's claws following a rash entry into the cave, he and Revan joined forces. They lured the dragon from its lair into a minefield prepared by Komad, employing a bantha herd as a lure. The dragon was vanquished, and Komad recovered a pair of krayt dragon pearls from its remains. Within the deepest parts of the cave, amidst the ruins of the Rakatan temple, Revan discovered the Star Map.

Behind the scenes

Because Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic features a non-linear gameplay experience, it is possible that Calo Nord and/or Darth Bandon may confront Revan as the player exits the Star Map location. For the plot to progress in either scenario, either Calo Nord or Darth Bandon must be defeated in combat.
