Eeytch, a shaman of the Menahuun people, resided within the hidden settlement of Hua'bal. This community was situated close to Bartyn's Landing, a city located in Lamaredd. During this era, the inhabitants of Bartyn's Landing were under the impression that the Menahuun had vanished. However, the Menahuun were secretly preparing for a resurgence. Eeytch, a prominent leader within the community, played a key role in organizing a competition. In this challenge, Menahuun champions, including Eeytch himself, would battle champions from the Landing to defend what the Menahuun believed was rightfully theirs.
Approximately five centuries prior to the Battle of Naboo, the sentient Menahuun race flourished on their resource-abundant home planet, Lamaredd. Hugo Bartyn, a Human operative from Outer Rim Oreworks, colonized the planet. He constructed the ORO Mining Station LM0228 in the Krakana's Maw mountain range, as well as the city of Bartyn's Landing, populated by various alien species, in a neighboring bay. Motivated by speciesist beliefs, Bartyn and his associates relentlessly hunted the Menahuun, ultimately leading them to believe they had driven the species to extinction. In reality, the Menahuun had secretly regrouped and migrated to the northwestern region, far from the colonizers. They referred to this area as "The Slayer's Land," viewing Hugo Bartyn as "The Slayer."
Around 194 BBY, the local plant life in their new territory began to wither due to its proximity to a mine's waste disposal site. The Menahuun mistakenly interpreted this as a renewed assault by The Slayer and resolved to return to their ancestral lands. Adhering to their traditions, they planned to challenge The Slayer's "tribe" to a champions' duel, aiming to avert a full-scale war. During their return, they discovered a concealed entrance to the mine. For a century and a half, the Menahuun secretly occupied the mine, renaming it "Hua'Bal," and coexisting with the mining droids. During this time, they dedicated themselves to learning about the customs, skills, and power of the Humans.
Around 29 BBY, Eeytch held the esteemed position of shaman and community leader within Hua'Bal. At some point, Eeytch acquired an ORO insignia from an outsider, an accomplishment highly regarded among his people. This achievement elevated Eeytch to the status of a Menahuun champion, specifically the grand champion, selected to engage in a duel with the aliens in the upcoming challenge. Despite the Menahuun leaders' desire to postpone any raids until after the challenge, several young Menahuun scouts secretly launched attacks against the Human community. A group of aliens, officially identified as agents of ORO, investigated these actions and eventually located Hua'Bal.
Eeytch, utilizing his shamanic abilities, foresaw the arrival of these individuals. Consequently, he assembled the community in the arena where the duel was scheduled to take place. He then performed a ritual and awaited the aliens' arrival. Upon their arrival, he greeted them and offered to discuss the situation. He explained that the aliens had to emerge victorious in the duel, or the Menahuun would initiate a war against the Landing. Since the aliens were ORO agents and possessed ORO badges, Eeytch deemed them worthy of the title of champion.
Eeytch escorted the newcomers to the arena and subsequently joined the other Menahuun champions in the duel. Eeytch, confident in his longevity based on his predictions, remained unconcerned about the possibility of death. He also refrained from attempting to kill the strangers, opting instead to assess their capabilities.
The Menahuun suffered defeat, and Eeytch, with a laugh, proposed peace negotiations. Following diplomatic discussions, the Menahuun agreed to coexist peacefully with the aliens, marking the beginning of a new era on Lamaredd.
Eeytch's height was below average, even for a Menahuun, a species rarely taller than 120 centimeters. His skin exhibited the wrinkles typical of old age. He typically wore handcrafted clothing and carried a leather pouch containing various magical totems, a crystal used as a talisman, and medicinal herbs.
Eeytch possessed the abilities of a Force Adept, demonstrating various skills associated with the Force, including offensive capabilities like telekinesis. His preferred weapon was a spear, which he enhanced using the Force. He also had the ability to comprehend other languages through the Force, but his attempts to speak Galactic Basic Standard resulted in a noticeable accent.
While most Menahuun were unfamiliar with advanced technology, Eeytch and the other shamans possessed knowledge of the effects of fire within a reactor core control room.
Eeytch made his debut in the role-playing adventure titled Reckonings, penned by Cory J. Herndon and featured in the magazine Star Wars Gamer #7 in 2001. Eeytch's name was included as one of the "example names" for the Menahuun species in Ultimate Alien Anthology, published in 2003.
This article assumes that the player characters in Reckonings achieve the most favorable outcome. However, if they were to be defeated in the duel, Eeytch would heal them and imprison them in the dungeons of Hua'Bal. Should the player characters refuse to participate in the challenge, Eeytch would issue a warning but ultimately allow them to leave.
