The Elite Force was a high-caliber division within the Coruscant Defense Forces throughout the Galactic Civil War period. This unit, answering to General Tal Ashen of the Galactic Empire, had the responsibility of protecting the Imperial Palace. Its composition included a diverse selection of superior stormtroopers, AT-ATs, AT-STs, TIE Advanced x1s, TIE/D Defenders, and other various Imperial military assets. During 7 ABY, the group faced defeat and sustained considerable casualties in combat against New Republic troops that were commanded by generals Han Solo and Rand Talor during the Seizure of Coruscant.
