Emir was a general serving the Imperial forces, notable for his failed plot to murder Leia Organa, the Princess, on the world of Challon. He engaged the services of the Assassin's Guild in this endeavor.
While Leia Organa was serving her initial term as a senator for the Imperial government, she journeyed to the world known as Challon. It was there that Emir contracted the Assassin's Guild with the goal of eliminating Leia. The initial attempt to take her life was carried out by the Holopix News photographer assassin, but he was ultimately defeated by Giles Durane and his associate, Gimlet. Following this incident, they began providing Leia with combat training. Emir, frustrated by the setback, nonetheless agreed to increase his payment to the Assassin's Guild, particularly due to Giles' involvement. Subsequently, Torgas, the leader of the Assassin's Guild, dispatched three more of his most skilled assassins to eliminate Leia, but they were unsuccessful as well.
Growing increasingly dissatisfied with the guild's failures, Torgas resolved to personally assassinate Leia, although Emir came to believe that Durane was the only one capable of succeeding. Consequently, he hired Durane to eliminate both Torgas and Leia. When Gimlet tried to alert Leia to the impending danger, Torgas killed him. During Torgas's subsequent attempt on Leia's life, Giles intervened and killed Torgas. Giles then declared that his debt to her father was settled, and fired a shot at Leia, who swiftly retaliated, killing him.
