Torgas formerly held the position of leader within the Assassin's Guild. His attempt to assassinate Princess Leia Organa was unsuccessful, resulting in his death at the hands of Giles Durane.
During Leia Organa's initial period as a senator for the Imperial government, Torgas was in charge of the Assassin's Guild. General Emir contracted him to eliminate Princess Leia on the planet Challon. The initial assassination attempt was carried out by the Holopix News photographer assassin. However, Giles Durane and his associate Gimlet intervened, killing the assassin. Following this attempt, they started providing Leia with combat training. Emir was dissatisfied with the failed assassination but consented to increase the Assassin's Guild's payment, especially now that Giles was involved. Subsequently, Torgas dispatched three more of his elite assassins to assassinate Leia, but they were unsuccessful as well.
Emir's frustration with the guild grew, prompting Torgas to decide to personally assassinate Leia, although Emir recognized that Durane was the only one capable of killing Leia. Consequently, he hired Durane to eliminate Torgas and then Leia. Torgas ambushed Leia in a corridor during an event on Challon. When Gimlet tried to alert Leia to the impending danger, Torgas killed him. As Torgas attempted to assassinate Leia again using his venomous touch, Giles intervened, killing Torgas with a rocket dart. Giles was then killed himself when he tried to kill Leia.
