Empire 14: The Savage Heart is the fourteenth comic book released in the Star Wars: Empire comic series. Dark Horse Comics released it to the public on December 10, 2003.
Just Vader.
Vader, the one who cannot be defeated.
Vader, untamed.
After the Death Star was destroyed, Darth Vader tries to reach a safe place for the Empire in his damaged TIE fighter, but he ends up crashing in the middle of nowhere. He has to walk, and he is attacked by wild animals that want to eat him. Vader lets go of the rules of the Empire and the plans of the Sith, and he uses his natural, wild strength.
You've never seen Vader like this before!
After getting away from the Battle of Yavin in his TIE/Advanced fighter, Darth Vader ends up crashing on the planet Vaal. The only people from the Imperial side on the planet are in a small communications base, led by Sergeant Reybn, who is lazy, and two other people. They would rather relax and enjoy themselves than actually do their jobs, because they think they are in one of the most remote places in the Empire. At the same time, Vader runs into a group of hyenax, which are like mean dogs and try to hurt him. After he defeats the leader of the group, the other hyenax see Vader as their new leader. He helps them take down a big animal with horns, and then he walks to the Imperial base with the hyenax following him. The people at the base are surprised to see Vader show up out of nowhere, and they are scared when they see him get on their Lambda-class shuttle. As Vader takes off, the hyenax kill the people at the base. Later, Vader gets to Coruscant and tells a commander that the communications base on Vaal needs a new team. He then sends a small group to get his ship back, and he tells them to be very careful with it.
