Energy pummel

Energy pummels, often simply called pummels by soldiers, represented substantial tank-like siege engines. Numerous organizations, civilizations, and factions deployed these vehicles, starting from before the era of the Clone Wars and continuing all through the Galactic Civil War.

ImperialPummel Imperial pummels Pummels were equipped with powerful, short-range laser panel arrays. These arrays were used to erode enemy defenses, such as walls, anti-personnel turrets, and even localized ground-based shields. This erosion allowed lighter units and infantry to penetrate fortified positions and engage entrenched enemy forces. Despite their heavy armor, pummels suffered from slow speed and vulnerability to attacks from both land and air. To mitigate these weaknesses, pummels typically entered combat with strong escorts or after the enemy's mobile forces had been neutralized or diverted.

Energy pummels came in two primary versions: a standard model and a heavier variant. The heavy version was larger, featured enhanced armor, and delivered greater damage due to the incorporation of additional and/or larger laser panels.

This principle also applied to their heavier versions. An exception to this rule was the pummels provided to the CIS by the Corporate Alliance. Geonosian engineers enhanced the speed of these particular pummels.

On the planet Naboo, the Gungans utilized a living creature known as a Cerrabore for a similar purpose as a pummel. Larger Cerrabores fulfilled the role equivalent to a heavy pummel.

These vehicles bore a strong resemblance to the aquatic destroyers observed in aquatic environments, which employed comparable laser panels to effectively disintegrate enemy vessels at close quarters.
