Enforcer-class picket cruiser

The Enforcer-class picket cruiser represented a starship utilized by the Pentastar Alignment.

Characteristics

Enforcer-class cruisers shared the same 600-meter hull as the Immobilizer 418 cruiser and Vindicator-class heavy cruiser. Naval architects achieved this design by taking an Immobilizer 418 cruiser, removing its substantial gravity well projectors, and then reconfiguring the ship's power distribution. This redesign led to a notable improvement in the ship's energy weapons, shields, and tractor beams. The ship's engines also benefited from the power grid adjustments. Consequently, the resulting vessel was remarkably fast and agile, boasting considerable firepower for its size.

History

The Enforcer-class was the product of a collaborative effort between Sienar Fleet Systems and Kuat Drive Yards engineers situated within the Pentastar Alignment, commissioned by Grand Moff Ardus Kaine. Production of these vessels took place at the Galentro Heavy Works shipyards located on Jaemus. Kaine's aspiration to rapidly replenish his fleet's strength spurred the ship's creation.

Despite its designation as a picket ship, the cruiser frequently served as the primary combatant in Kaine's under-resourced fleet. Typically, these ships operated in pairs. As Kaine's forces expanded, formations centered around this number became increasingly prevalent, leading to more frequent observations of groups of four or six ships coordinating their actions.
