Epica, a planet of inherent beauty, showcased landscapes of wooded hills, mountainous vales, and frigid oceans. The Hydians Auction House found a new home on Epica during the conflict known as the Yuuzhan Vong War. It was assumed then that Epica's isolated location would deter the interest of the invading Yuuzhan Vong. Following the war, many who had moved the Hydians chose to stay, constructing elaborate palaces and grand residences. Over time, the planet's main urban center evolved into a haven of refinement for the affluent and elite. This surge in extravagance compelled the original inhabitants – Humans, Bothans, Duros, and Bimms – to toil in service of the wealthy newcomers who had taken over their world.
