The Ereesi were a sapient race that originated on the world of Ereesus, which was located in the Kanz sector. This race was deeply enmeshed in the practice of human trafficking, and Ereesus became a hub for the lucrative buying and selling of slaves. The Ereesi initiated slave-taking expeditions across the sector around 4200 BBY. As a result of their constant attacks, the Argazdans were driven to become part of the Galactic Republic in that same year. By 3970 BBY, the Argazdan Redoubt's military forces responded to the Ereesi's violence by obliterating Ereesus, resulting in the complete annihilation of all life, including the Ereesi slave traders.
