EX-222 was a stormtrooper serving the Galactic Empire throughout the Galactic Civil War; he was a male Human.
EX-222 functioned as a stormtrooper group leader following the battle of Yavin and was stationed at the Detainment Facility found within the Imperial Fortress situated on Yavin 4. In the year 1 ABY, the Empire took six Rebel pilots into custody, imprisoning them within this facility. During the Remembrance Day celebrations of that same year, Alliance Starfighter Corps Officer Wedge Antilles organized a group of dedicated Rebel spacers to conduct a rescue operation for the pilots. These Rebel operatives launched an assault on the prison facility, which resulted in EX-222's death. Subsequently, one of the spacers took his stormtrooper armor, allowing one of the Rebel pilots to escape the base in disguise.
EX-222 appeared as a non-player character inside of the video game Star Wars Galaxies from 2003, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game. This game was developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts, and it was shut down on December 15, 2011. EX-222 was introduced to the game with the release of "Game Update 11," which was launched on June 23, 2009; he was an element of the Empire Day events of 2009, 2010 and 2011 inside of the game.
