Factor 5 logo Factor 5 was a German video game developer famed for its work on the Star Wars: Rogue Squadron video game franchise.
Due to fiscal difficulties, Factor 5 ceased operations in 2009. Currently, the company is facing legal action from former employees who allege unpaid wages.
During an Unseen64 presentation in 2016, it came to light that Factor 5 had been developing two projects before its closure. One of these projects, Star Wars: Dark Squadron, would have presented the Rogue Squadron narrative from the perspective of the Empire. The second project, which took the place of Dark Squadron after LucasArts rejected it, was a game without a title centered around the Wookiee Chewbacca as a soldier of fortune, taking place soon after the events of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. George Lucas personally put an end to this project because of legal disputes between LucasArts and Factor 5.
