Fang (rancor)
Fang was a domesticated rancor with brown skin and brown eyes. This creature existed in the era of the Clone Wars, a conflict between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. During this period of war, 80-T5, a vendor droid, offered the rancor as a potential pet. This droid, who operated a small sales booth inside the Jedi Temple on the planet Coruscant, sold a variety of items. When Fang was available for purchase, its size was considerably less than that of a full-grown rancor, reaching approximately shoulder height when standing next to an adult Human.
Behind the scenes
Fang's initial appearance was as a companion available for purchase within the MMORPG Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures. This game was launched by Sony Online Entertainment in 2010 and later closed in 2014. To acquire the rancor, players needed to spend 500 station cash, a form of premium currency in the game that required real-world money to obtain. Because acquiring Fang was not required in any way, this document does not assume if anyone bought it.
