Farl Cort
Farl Cort was a male Human who acted as the head of the settlement located on Halanit throughout the duration of the Galactic Civil War.
Biography
As a virus rapidly spread throughout the isolated colony, he issued an appeal for bacta; however, acquiring it from Thyferra, which was then under the control of Ysanne Isard, would have been prohibitively expensive. Cort felt a sense of relief upon the arrival of Corran Horn and Ooryl Qrygg, who were escorting a tanker containing bacta that had been seized from one of Isard's convoys. The Rogues gave the bacta without any cost, prompting Cort to express his deep gratitude and to offer the two pilots relaxing hot spring baths and meals of fish. Mineral springs and fish were the two main resources of Halanit.
When Gavin Darklighter, a pilot from Rogue Squadron, arrived at Halanit while fleeing from Isard's military forces, Cort welcomed him and gave him refuge while his fighter was being refueled. However, during that time, Isard dispatched a Star Destroyer with the purpose of punishing Halanit for having previously accepted the stolen bacta. Darklighter, believing that the Star Destroyer had followed him, handed Cort his blaster and departed, hoping to divert the Imperial forces if they were indeed pursuing him. Isard's forces obliterated the colony, and Cort had no opportunity to survive.
