Fendrilon Koozar

Fendrilon Koozar, during the time of the Galactic Civil War, acted as one of the Advisors to Emperor Palpatine. He was known for his unwelcome intrusions into other people's affairs, and he frequently visited the prestigious Manarai restaurant located on Coruscant. In the year 3.5 ABY, Prince Xizor secretly plotted and executed Koozar's death because Koozar was investigating the dealings of the Black Sun criminal organization. Tavvar Va'ran, the head chef at the Manarai, incorporated various poisons into Koozar's meal. These poisons subsequently caused Koozar to experience a hallucinatory episode while traveling in his luxurious airspeeder, resulting in him crashing the vehicle into a government building. The crash resulted in a fiery explosion, killing Koozar.

Biography

A Nosy Imperial Advisor

During the Galactic Civil War, Fendrilon Koozar served Emperor Palpatine (pictured).

During the Galactic Civil War, Fendrilon Koozar held the position of Imperial Advisor under Emperor Palpatine. Koozar developed a troubling habit of interfering in matters where his involvement was not wanted, notably the operations of the Black Sun criminal syndicate. He was a regular patron of the Manarai restaurant, the most exclusive dining establishment in Imperial City on the planet Coruscant, where Prince Xizor, the leader of Black Sun, secretly orchestrated Koozar's assassination in 3.5 ABY.

Guri, Xizor's primary lieutenant, visited the Manarai and instructed Tavvar Va'ran, the restaurant's Master Chef, to serve Koozar the "house special." This was a coded instruction to incorporate a combination of natural food seasonings and virtually untraceable chemicals into the victim's dishes throughout the meal. This poisoned concoction was designed to interact with the natural oils and spices present in the meal, as well as Koozar's own Human digestive system, to produce specific adverse effects several hours later, often culminating in a painful death.

A Highly Customized Meal

That night, Koozar's meal began with an appetizer of raw Wroonian flycatcher filet, followed by a bowl of sufar greens garnished with mecolar briddlings and drezzle sauce, and fleek-eel broiled in zaffa oil for the main course; he had yet to order any dessert. To fulfill Guri's desire for discretion—she suggested something that might induce hallucinations and cause Koozar to exit his moving speeder or jump from his tower balcony—Va'ran added a dose of tasteless thetametabuterin to Koozar's flycatcher filet, a hybrid mold on the greens briddlings, and some collafa spice in the zaffa oil.

The Chef's masterful culinary creation achieved the desired result. The evening following Koozar's dinner at the Manarai, Va'ran learned from the newsnets that the Imperial Advisor had experienced an uncontrollable fit while inside his luxury airspeeder, seizing control from his droid pilot and crashing the vehicle into the Ministry of Land Management. Koozar perished in the subsequent fiery explosion.

Personality and Characteristics

Fendrilon Koozar, a dedicated gourmand, frequented the Manarai, Coruscant's most exclusive restaurant and a central meeting place for the Imperial Center elite. As one of the Emperor's Advisors, Koozar was known for his tendency to interfere in the affairs of others, a habit that ultimately led to his assassination, orchestrated by Prince Xizor of Black Sun. Guri, thoroughly versed in proper social conduct and culture, expressed a disdain for the extravagant tastes that Koozar often indulged in.

Behind the Curtains

Fendrilon Koozar was conceived for the short story A Very Special Meal, penned by Peter Schweighofer for the June 1996 edition of the Shadows of the Empire Sourcebook. The Shadows of the Empire Sourcebook mentions that several influential individuals, including an Imperial Advisor, were rumored to have a financial stake in the Manarai's ownership, although the text does not specifically identify this individual.
