The Imperial artificial asteroids, numbering two, were actually space stations that had been cleverly disguised to resemble asteroids. Within these stations were housed a variety of military resources and personnel, including AT-STs, multiple stormtroopers, and field stormtroopers. These two asteroids served as the launch point for the Imperial forces during the battle of Altyr V. Ultimately, Kyle Katarn successfully infiltrated and annihilated the asteroids, which was a pivotal action that guaranteed a New Republic triumph.
