Dart shooter

A concealed dart launcher is wielded by Deliah Blue. Dart shooters were frequently found in situations where covert operations were paramount, due to their ability to evade security detection via their low profile. Civilians desiring a means of discreet self-defense also frequently chose them. Prax Arms was well known as a manufacturer of dart shooters.

The design of these weapons was generally quite simple, employing a powerful spring to propel a metal dart tipped with a neurotoxin. Palm-sized versions had a very limited effective distance of just three to four meters; however, their small size allowed for effortless concealment until the moment of engagement. Many dart shooters could hold three darts, with additional darts easily stashed within a fake comlink or wrist-mounted band.

More standard dart shooters had an effective range reaching up to ten meters, although some more advanced models, which utilized compressed air for propulsion, could achieve ranges ten times greater. While these weapons were bulkier and harder to hide, they offered increased ammunition capacity, often holding as many as six darts. The weapons weighed approximately 100g.

The darts themselves typically measured around five centimeters in length and could be coated with a variety of substances, ranging from incapacitating agents like concentrated Symoxin to lethal neurotoxins such as Malkite themfar and Fex-M3, capable of causing death in under ten seconds.
