Heart of Fire

Aayla Secura is depicted passing along the Heart of Fire to Xiaan Amersu in this image. A Heart of Fire was a radiant gem, glowing red, originating from the planet Kiffu. Certain Heart of Fire gems, those displaying a blue hue, were even more highly valued than the standard red ones. On Kiffu, tradition dictated that this gem be gifted to someone held in high affection and esteem. It was believed that the stone contained a fragment of the spirits of both the giver and the recipient. The Jedi Master Quinlan Vos presented a Heart of Fire to Aayla Secura, his Padawan, on the occasion of her thirteenth birthday. Later in life, after Aayla encountered Xiaan Amersu, she chose to give the gem to her. After Quinlan experienced amnesia and went back to the Jedi Temple, Xiaan returned it to Quinlan.

Boba Fett once gave a Heart of Fire pendant to his wife, the Kiffar bounty hunter named Sintas Vel, who retained possession of it for numerous years, until her disappearance. In the year 40 ABY, Boba requested that his granddaughter Mirta Gev, who possessed one-quarter Kiffar heritage, attempt to use psychometry to glean information from the stone about Sintas' fate. Mirta responded by stating that, due to her not being a full Kiffar, she was unable to perform the task. Boba and Mirta eventually located a former Jedi pretending to be a Kiffar to interpret Mirta's portion of the stone, which provided them with a clue that ultimately revealed Sintas was still alive, though trapped within carbonite.

Following the retrieval of the carbonite slab containing Sintas Vel from the government of Phaeda by Boba and Mirta, they proceeded to revive Sintas on Mandalore. Despite being both blind and suffering from amnesia upon awakening, Sintas immediately inquired about her Heart of Fire pendant. Mirta then handed over her half of the stone to Sintas, who commented that it felt different than she remembered. Sometime later, Boba would acquire another, larger Heart of Fire for her, this one encompassing all of his memories from the time he had been separated from her. Boba gifted her with the stone shortly before their granddaughter's wedding, and although she initially refused it, Boba insisted she hold onto it should she ever desire to "catch up" on lost time. Sintas then proceeded to read the stone after Mirta's marriage to Ghes Orade.
