Ixlls were a sentient species of winged beings. They were indigenous to the moon Da Soocha V, which was also known as the Pinnacle Moon.
Evolved from meat-eating predators, Ixlls possessed a sophisticated feudal society that was generally characterized by peace. They also showed a talent for crafting and using tools, creating simple yet elegant bags and ornaments, as well as "exploding stones," which were essentially black powder grenades.
The Millennium Falcon is guided into Pinnacle Base by Ixlls.
The language they used was composed of high-pitched chirps, clicks, and whistles. These sounds could travel long distances through the thin atmosphere surrounding the pinnacles. They dwelled in networks of tunnels at the summits of the flattened pinnacles, often adorning them with collected trinkets. They possessed natural sonar for navigation in darkness. Their flight speed could reach up to 80 kilometers per hour, with a gliding speed of approximately 64 kilometers per hour.
Pinnacle Base, a New Republic stronghold, was located on Pinnacle Moon. It was utilized after the fall of Coruscant against Imperial warlords preceding the return of Palpatine. Ixlls were often seen flying among the moon's pinnacles, weaving around New Republic spacecraft. They were known to exhibit friendliness and playfulness towards New Republic personnel. They quickly assimilated galactic technology, even learning to manipulate their whistling language to reprogram astromech droids as practical jokes. Tumnors, large predators that preyed on their young, were frequently featured in their folklore.
As the New Republic prepared to evacuate the world ahead of the Galaxy Gun's projectile, several Ixlls were taken along. Eventually, a colony was established on one of the uninhabited moons of Endor.
