Da Soocha V, alternatively called the Pinnacle Moon, held the position of the fifth moon orbiting the planet Da Soocha. This planet, Da Soocha, resided within the uncharted Cyax system, situated in the region known as Hutt Space.
The landscape of Da Soocha V was characterized by towering, jagged stone formations, some reaching kilometers in height. These formations were the result of ancient volcanic activity, leading the New Republic to bestow upon it the moniker "Pinnacle Moon." The only indigenous sentient species on this moon were the diminutive, winged beings known as Ixlls. Additionally, Da Soocha V served as a habitat for predatory creatures called tumnors, which primarily hunted the Ixlls.
During the era of the Galactic Civil War, Rebel Alliance scouts explored the remote Cyax system and discovered the ocean world of Da Soocha, an event that occurred around the time of the Battle of Endor. Approximately in 10 ABY, following the Invasion of Coruscant and the subsequent outbreak of the Imperial Civil War, the New Republic was compelled to evacuate Coruscant. They then established a command base on Da Soocha V, selecting it for its isolated location.

The arrival of the New Republic personnel greatly intrigued the primitive Ixll inhabitants, especially since the presence of starships deterred the large, winged tumnors that had previously preyed upon the younger Ixlls. To construct the base, New Republic engineers expanded existing caverns within the enormous stone spires. These expanded caverns were used to house hangars and operational decks for the New Republic Navy vessels.
Following the capture of Jedi Master Luke Skywalker and his subsequent manipulation by the resurrected Emperor Palpatine, the Emperor arrived above the moon aboard his Eclipse-class dreadnought, the Eclipse, accompanied by a small flotilla of ships. The sudden appearance of Palpatine's fleet caught the unprepared New Republic forces by surprise, allowing the Emperor to issue his demands without opposition. He insisted that Leia Organa surrender to him and board his flagship, which she did willingly, as he still held her brother, Luke Skywalker, under his control.
In an attempt to break Organa's spirit and sway her unborn child to his side, Palpatine provoked Skywalker into attacking her, aiming to prove his continued loyalty to the dark side. Leia, however, was able to reach out to the remaining good within Luke, freeing him from Palpatine's mental grasp. The Jedi Knight then turned against his former master, prompting the Emperor to unleash a devastating Force storm that threatened to consume the Republic's fleet.
Luke and Leia, working together through the Force, countered Palpatine's power, causing the storm to spiral out of control and engulf the Eclipse. The Skywalker siblings managed to escape the doomed vessel in a shuttle just as it disintegrated. At the time, it was believed that the Emperor had perished aboard his flagship.

Following the New Republic attack on Palpatine's citadel located on Byss, and the subsequent escape of the surviving Rebels into hyperspace alongside a group of smugglers, Palpatine commanded the Galaxy Gun to fire its first planet-destroying projectile at the New Republic command center on Pinnacle Moon.
However, thanks to the presence of spies within Byss, the New Republic forces, along with some of the native Ixlls, were able to evacuate the doomed moon aboard a fleet of transports. Despite Luke Skywalker's efforts to intercept the missile using the weapons systems on his transport, the Jedi Explorer, the projectile struck the surface of Da Soocha V, triggering a nucleonic chain reaction that obliterated the moon in a single, brilliant flash, effectively erasing it from the galaxy.
In the narrative of Star Wars: Dark Empire II, the moon is incorrectly identified as Gla Soocha V. Conversely, the PC game Star Wars: Rebellion presents "Gla Soocha" as a frequently used alternative name for the planet Da Soocha, which suggests that "Gla Soocha V" might be a similarly employed alternate designation.
