An example of Mandalorian cubism
Mandalorian cubism represents an artistic style originating from the planet of Mandalore, experiencing a resurgence in popularity during the Clone Wars, a conflict between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. A particular artwork of this style was once featured within the Mandalorian Art Gallery. While aboard the starship known as the Ghost, the Mandalorian artist named Sabine Wren documented her thoughts on Mandalorian cubism, expressing admiration for the piece exhibited in the gallery. However, she felt resentment toward those in authority who repurposed the image to advocate for war, a purpose she believed contradicted the artwork's intended message of condemnation.
Within his dwelling on Dathomir, Maul famously possessed a stolen cubist portrait of Duchess Satine Kryze, whom he had killed during the Clone Wars era.
The artistic style of Mandalorian cubism initially appeared in "The Mandalore Plot," which is the twelfth installment of Season Two of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated television show. However, its formal identification by name occurred in Sabine My Rebel Sketchbook, a reference volume penned by Daniel Wallace and published in 2015.
