Dorin, the native planet of the Kel Dor species, was a planet situated within the Expansion Region of the galaxy. The Kel Dor were compelled to utilize rebreathers like antiox breath masks for survival beyond their world, owing to the planet's atmosphere that was abundant in Dorin gas and helium, making oxygen a lethal substance to them. In the course of the Clone Wars, Anakin Skywalker, a Jedi General, and Ahsoka Tano, a Commander, successfully routed Separatist forces in a battle that occurred close to Dorin.
Despite the unsuitability of the atmosphere for the respiration of most species from other worlds, the indigenous flora of Dorin provided edible sustenance. Examples of such foods included zand nuts and the fruit produced by kand trees.
