Flash training

Flash training, alternatively known as flash learning or flash instruction, involved the use of holographic projections to educate young clones as they matured. This technique allowed clones to rapidly gain knowledge, skills, and abilities.

History

During the development phase of the Grand Army of the Republic, the newly created clone troopers initially received instruction in weapons usage and tactical maneuvers before progressing to simulations, exercises, and live-fire practice. A specialized group of elite clones also underwent flash instruction during the initial stages of their fundamental training. Toward the end of the Clone Wars, the Galactic Republic Military deployed millions of additional clone troopers, who were rapidly matured within a year by Arkanian Microtechnologies on Centax-2 utilizing Spaarti technology. Because these new clones experienced an exceptionally accelerated growth process, they were taught using a distinct learning method called flash pumping, which constituted their entire basic training. In battle, the Arkanian clones demonstrated deficient shooting skills and a lack of strategic thinking, rendering them comparatively inferior soldiers when contrasted with their Kaminoan-bred counterparts.

Memory flashes, a variation of flash training, served to transfer the knowledge and experiences of a prime clone into a clone subject. A negative consequence of these memory transfers, however, was their potential to destabilize a clone's psychological well-being. By acquiring the memories of another individual's existence, the clone could experience an identity disorder, making it difficult for the clone to differentiate its own experiences from the original clone's memories. This confusion could ultimately lead the clone to a state of insanity.
