Fodo Medoo

Fodo Medoo, a Rodian individual of the male persuasion, earned his living as a gambler during the tumultuous period of the Jedi Civil War. This conflict pitted the forces of the Galactic Republic against the might of the Sith Empire. In the year 3956 BBY, his occupation involved the loading of various goods for the Czerka Corporation. His location was the planet Kashyyyk, situated within the Mid Rim region. His leisure time was often dedicated to the card game known as pazaak.

Biography

During the era of the Jedi Civil War between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire, Fodo Medoo made his living as a Rodian gambler. He was providing informal labor for the Czerka Corporation on the Mid Rim planet of Kashyyyk, also known as Edean to the corporation, a forested world. Medoo's job was to load cargo onto ships upon their arrival. When no ships were present, he primarily spent his time engrossed in the card game pazaak. Medoo had heard tales regarding the attack on the Outer Rim ecumenopolis of Taris, but he largely ignored them, as he had no personal connections to that planet.

In 3956 BBY, Revan, a former Sith Lord who had been retrained as a Jedi and was suffering from amnesia, arrived on Kashyyyk in his pursuit of the Rakatan Star Maps. Revan approached Medoo on the landing platform, inquiring about the Rodian himself and the planet. Medoo described his occupation and admitted that he didn't possess extensive knowledge of the planet, directing Revan to Janos Wertka, the Czerka administrator. He remarked that, regardless of the war's outcome, there would always be a need for individuals to load cargo.

Revan accepted Medoo's invitation to play pazaak with modest stakes. Despite losing four consecutive games, Medoo persisted and increased the wager. After losing another four games, Medoo raised the stakes once more. He acknowledged that he should probably quit, but he lacked alternative activities or places to spend his credits. Medoo commented that Revan was the most formidable opponent he had faced in a long time, given the limited number of pazaak players near the dock. Following a ninth defeat, Medoo ran out of credits and instead wagered additional pazaak cards. Revan emerged victorious once again, securing his tenth consecutive win. Medoo handed over the promised cards, expressing that the games had been the most enjoyable experience he had had recently. He mentioned that ten wins was sometimes considered a tournament victory, but he had never participated in such tournaments. The Rodian then informed Revan that he had to resume his work and departed from the landing platform.

After Revan's actions on Kashyyyk and the death of Chuundar, the Wookiee Chieftain, the Wookiees of Rwookrrorro rebelled against the Czerka Corporation, leading to the departure of Czerka personnel, including Fodo Medoo, from the area.

Personality and traits

Fodo Medoo, a Rodian male, possessed Copper-colored skin and black eyes. He found pleasure in playing pazaak during his free time and often advised others to persevere after a loss. He displayed a degree of indifference towards the war, assuming that his employment would remain secure regardless of the victor. He believed that the Wookiees were free to call the planet what they wished, but he personally referred to it as Edean, as the Czerka Corporation had paid to name the local trade routes.

Equipment

Medoo was attired in a green and teal suit complemented by bronze-colored boots, a brown harness, and a brown utility belt equipped with a pouch and a blaster holster. He carried a pazaak deck along with several cards and an additional deck that he was interested in selling.

Behind the scenes

Fodo Medoo made an appearance in the video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, released in 2003 and developed by BioWare. Interactions with him are optional and do not impact the plot, quests, or alignment. If the player lacks a pazaak deck, Medoo will offer one for seventy-five credits or, through persuasion, provide it for free. He will also furnish the player with a pamphlet containing the game's rules. If the player loses to Medoo, he will offer an apology and encourage Revan to persevere.
