Fodro

Fodro, a planet found within the Outer Rim Territories, existed in the Clacis sector. It was situated along the Braxant Run hyperlane. This world gained significance during the Galactic Civil War as the final destination of the Dahvil-Fodro Hyperspace Promenade, a well-known interstellar racing circuit. The racer Siro Simito once participated, estimating that Seeg, his competitor, would reach Fodro many hours before him. Later, Fodro became part of the Pentastar Alignment's domain.

Description

Within the Clacis sector, specifically in the New Territories region of the Outer Rim Territories, lay the Fodro system, home to the planet Fodro. Positioned on the Braxant Run hyperlane between the Gwori and Kwevron systems, it was at least two days' worth of hyperspace travel, using a Class 1 hyperdrive, from Azna, a planet in the Demetras sector.

History

As part of the Dahvil-Fodro Hyperspace Promenade race, the pilot Siro Simito traveled from the planet Azna to Fodro.

Fodro became the final destination of the Dahvil-Fodro Hyperspace Promenade, a popular annual interstellar Star Rally racing route, during the time of the Galactic Civil War. The section between Azna and Fodro was the last part of the race. Siro Simito, a racer who was also secretly working for the Rebel Alliance, once took part in the Dahvil-Fodro Hyperspace Promenade.

Simito estimated in a report he was writing on the eighteenth day of the race, while traveling in hyperspace from Azna to Fodro, that Seeg would arrive at the finish line on Fodro several hours' worth of time before him. Even though Simito was competitive with Seeg, he deliberately reduced the hyperdrive efficiency of his starship during the flight to Fodro. His plan was to later claim publicly that the ship had engine problems, which would distract from the detours the pilot planned to take during the next race to secretly deliver items for the Rebel Alliance.

By the time of the Battle of Yavin, General Airen Cracken of the Rebel Alliance had included Simito's report, which described the Dahvil-Fodro Hyperspace Promenade and its route, in a datafile listing various Rebel operatives. Between 4 ABY and 12 ABY, Fodro came under the control of the Pentastar Alignment.

Behind the scenes

Chuck Truett created Fodro, which was first mentioned in Cracken's Rebel Operatives, a sourcebook for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game published by West End Games in 1994. In 2009, the reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Fodro system, and therefore Fodro, in grid square K-4.
