G2-4T

G2-4T was a G2 repair droid employed by the Star Tours travel agency. He jokingly stated that G2-4T was an abbreviation of G2-4TT45579982DWP-40PST, claiming it was simply his given name.

History

During the early period of the Galactic Civil War, G2-4T functioned as a security official, operating the thermal scanning area within Spaceport THX1138. To guarantee passenger safety, he was also programmed to identify suspicious actions in Humans, such as sweating, blinking, speaking, laughing, and breathing. However, the programming was excessively effective, leading the G2 droid to become overly suspicious of travelers. He frequently engaged in casual conversation with tourists and passengers as they went through his security checkpoint, but he displayed a grumpy demeanor towards colleagues and passengers, much to the disappointment of his superiors.

By the time the Battle of Death Star III occurred, G2-4T was the supervisor of the repair droids located in the Droidnostics Center at the Tomorrowland Starport. He still had his irritable attitude, often talking back to his supervisor and mocking passing guests. He maintained his duties until 4 ABY, at which point the agency ceased operations. Following the company's closure, the droid secured employment with Talon Karrde.

Behind the scenes

This droid made his initial appearance in the queue line of the original Star Tours attraction. Hasbro created a G2-4T action figure as a Star Tours exclusive, available only at Disneyland. His voice was provided by Imagineer Mike West, who also acted as the ride's show producer.

In Star Tours: The Adventures Continue, he was re-imagined as a security officer, with Patrick Warburton providing his voice.
