Sometime around 3641 BBY, he found himself stationed on Belsavis, a world used as a prison. While there, he discovered an ancient alien artifact. Although he didn't understand its function, he recognized its extreme danger, noting it had vaporized three of his subordinates. He also came to the conclusion that prisoners had unknowingly recovered some of its main pieces, broken into three sections. He then gave a Sith officer the task of finding the device and putting it back together.
