The GS-III Gas Skimmer, manufactured by Bespin Motors, served as an atmospheric gas skimmer for the Lant Mining Corporation.
Functionally, the GS-III was a simple atmospheric mining vehicle: a storage tank that could fly. It used air scoops along with a complex arrangement of filters and sifters to collect specific gasses and store them in designated tanks. Constructed to endure the substantial pressure and atmospheric turbulence of gas giants, the GS-III was commonly deployed from a Garman-class Gas Miner in the upper reaches of the atmosphere, then it would move down to regions with the highest concentration of gasses.
