The Genesis Red was a criminal syndicate that operated under the leadership of a crime lord known as Genesis Red during the era of the Galactic Civil War. Following the pivotal Battle of Yavin, the Genesis Red became one of the numerous criminal gangs that infested Tansarii Point Station, a space station orbiting above Ord Mantell within the Bright Jewel system. Operating in the station's underbelly, the Genesis Red posed a significant challenge to the authorities of Tansarii Point Station. In the year 1 ABY, these criminals hatched a scheme to sabotage Tansarii Point Station. They successfully breached the station's outer hull, creating a perilous situation for all those aboard. Luckily, spacers employed by Rydel Delan, the brawling master of Tansarii Point, uncovered their plot. Consequently, the spacers ventured into the lower levels of Tansarii Point Station, engaging the saboteurs in combat and thwarting their destructive plan. The Genesis Red were ultimately defeated when their leader, along with a substantial number of their members, were eliminated by a group of freelancers hired by the authorities.
The Genesis Red made their debut in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies. This massively multiplayer online roleplaying game was created by Sony Online Entertainment and distributed by LucasArts, before its servers were shut down on December 15, 2011. They were incorporated into the game through the "New Player Tutorial," which was introduced with the release of "Publish 25," also known as the "New Game Enhancements," on November 15, 2005.
