A male Sanyassan combatant and martial artist, Rydel Delan existed during the era of the Galactic Civil War.
Delan, Rydel, excelled in both melee weapon fighting and unarmed combat. He previously served under the pirate warlord Nym on Lok for a duration, but ultimately relocated to the Bright Jewel system. Following the Battle of Yavin, he operated as the close-quarters combat instructor within the training facilities of Tansarii Point Station, a space station positioned above Ord Mantell inside the Bright Jewel system.

In the year 1 ABY, the Sanyassan employed a spacer to resolve several issues present on the station. Delan's initial task for the spacer involved reducing the growing population of aggressive wild creatures, specifically flits and scyks, within Tansarii Point Station's atrium. Subsequently, the spacer aided Tiarsis, the local cantina proprietor, in dealing with a bully who was deterring patrons. During this endeavor, the spacer uncovered a scheme by a group of rebels identifying as the Genesis Red to sabotage the station. Consequently, the spacer ventured to the lower levels of Tansarii Point Station, confronting the saboteurs and thwarting their destructive intentions. The pirates had penetrated the station's outer hull, creating a precarious situation for its occupants. To prevent further devastation, Rydel instructed the spacer to eliminate the leader of the Genesis Red gang, known as Genesis Red. The spacer ultimately succeeded, earning Rydel Delan's respect and gratitude for safeguarding countless lives on Tansarii Point Station.
Delan was known to wear Marauder armor. He possessed several old pieces of fighter equipment including a tarnished brawling champion's ring, a frayed pit fighter's belt and a warp Brawler's bracelet one of which he gifted to the spacer as a token of appreciation for their assistance. He also carried personal weapons consisting of a sword, an axe, and a knuckler; however, he provided one of his swords to the spacer to show his gratitude for killing Genesis Red. One of Rydel's swords was abandoned at a Downed Blood Razor's Transport located on Lok, only to be later recovered by a spacer exploring the region.
Rydel Delan functioned as a non-player character in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game crafted by Sony Online Entertainment and distributed by LucasArts, before its shutdown on December 15, 2011. Rydel Delan was incorporated into the game within the "New Player Tutorial," introduced with the launch of the "Publish 25," also known as the "New Game Enhancements," on November 15, 2005. He presented the player with a selection of optional side missions, each varying in difficulty.
