These droids were built with the purpose of conducting blood analyses, which then allowed them to determine the health status of the individuals they were treating. A particular unit was stationed at a medical facility situated on the asteroid named Polis Massa. This droid played a crucial role when Senator Padmé Amidala went into labor, successfully delivering her twins, Luke and Leia. Despite the successful delivery, Amidala ultimately succumbed to a loss of will to live and passed away, a situation that left the droid perplexed.
