Ginn Jump

The Ginn Jump existed within the Arrowhead region, which itself was located in the Slice area of the Core Worlds. Sometime between the end of the Infinite Empire around 25,200 BBY and the establishment of the Galactic Republic in 25,053 BBY, a Duros hyperspatial physicist poetically—though somewhat inaccurately—identified the Ginn Jump along with the star systems of Coruscant, Corellia, and Alderaan—long inhabited by Humans—as the four "corners" of a space area that took the shape of a tetrahedron, leading to its designation as the Tetrahedron.

Behind the scenes

The 2009 reference work The Essential Atlas, written by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry, was the first time the Ginn Jump was mentioned, placing it within grid square L-10. Wallace revealed on his personal blog that the mention of the Tetrahedron region's four corners, including the Ginn Jump, was intended to acknowledge that the Star Wars galaxy was actually three-dimensional, despite The Essential Atlas typically only presented two-dimensional maps for simplicity.
