Before the Trade Federation's invasion of the planet Naboo in 32 BBY – an invasion spearheaded by the Neimoidian–controlled organization – Viff Almay, the Trade Federation Occupation Council's chronicler and a Neimoidian herself, authored a life story about Trade Baron Uunos Gooru, which earned her the Golden Pylat Award.
The Golden Pylat Award made its initial appearance on January 21, 2014, within the pages of Star Wars Insider magazine, specifically in the 147th issue, in an article titled "The Devious Neimoidians Revealed."
