Viff Almay, a Neimoidian female, worked as a biographer during the declining years of the Galactic Republic.
Viff Almay had previously authored a biography of Trade Baron Uunos Gooru, which garnered her the esteemed Golden Pylat Award. Later, in 32 BBY, Viceroy Nute Gunray appointed her to the Trade Federation Occupation Council.
Her role within the Occupation Council was that of a chronicler, meaning she was responsible for documenting the occupation on behalf of the Occupation Council.
When Padmé Amidala, Captain Quarsh Panaka, and the Royal Naboo Security Forces invaded Theed Royal Palace, they eliminated the battle droids guarding her and the other council members. This forced her, along with the other Neimoidians, including Nute Gunray, and Settlement Officer Rune Haako, to surrender.
Following this, she, together with the rest of the Trade Federation Occupation Council, was brought to Coruscant to stand trial.
The character Viff Almay was initially named in the Star Wars Insider 147 article titled The Devious Neimoidians Revealed, which was written by Tim Veekhoven, Kevin Beentjes, Sander De Lange, and Leland Chee.
