Gonmore, a planet situated in the Mid Rim within the Irishi sector, was traversed by the Entralla Route hyperlane. Once a part of the New Republic, this world, by the year 22 ABY, served as a sector clearinghouse for the smuggling organization overseen by Talon Karrde. In that year, Jerf Huxley, a smuggler, made an unsuccessful attempt to coerce Mara Jade Skywalker, Karrde's former second-in-command, into arranging the transfer of a substantial amount of money from the Gonmore clearinghouse. This was intended as severance compensation after Karrde terminated the employment of Huxley and his smuggling group.
The terrestrial planet of Gonmore was a component of the Gonmore system, which itself resided within the Irishi sector of the New Territories region of the Mid Rim. Its location along the Entralla Route hyperlane connected it to both the Obredaan and Ord Tessebok systems, and it existed in relatively close proximity to Domgrin, a planet situated in the Outer Rim Territories.

From 12 ABY to 13 ABY, Gonmore was integrated into the New Republic. It was considered to be the main financial hub in the Outer Rim Territories for the smuggler known as Talon Karrde. By 22 ABY, his smuggling network operated a sector clearinghouse there, a fact known to Jerf Huxley, a member of the network, and, according to Huxley himself, to Mara Jade Skywalker, who previously served as Karrde's second-in-command.
During that year, Jade Skywalker encountered Huxley at a cantina in the Outer Rim, controlled by Huxley's smuggling group. She was there to inform him, on Karrde's behalf, that his organization's services were no longer needed due to Karrde's gradual withdrawal from the smuggling industry. Huxley, whom Jade Skywalker suspected had anticipated this news, responded by holding her at gunpoint and demanding that she contact the Gonmore clearinghouse. He wanted her to arrange for the transfer of five hundred thousand credits in cash to him and his group as severance. However, Jade Skywalker, with the help of her husband, Jedi Master Luke Skywalker, ultimately compelled Huxley to release them unharmed. She informed him that she would instead transfer twenty thousand credits to his account as a gesture of gratitude from Karrde for Huxley's decade of service to his organization.

The first mention of Gonmore occurred in Timothy Zahn's 2004 novel titled Survivor's Quest. The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia, published in 2008, placed Gonmore within the Outer Rim Territories. This placement was later supported by the Appendix section of The Essential Atlas, a reference book from 2009, which located the Gonmore system, and thus Gonmore itself, in grid square K-6. However, this contradicted several maps within the same book that placed it in the Mid Rim.
The claim of an Outer Rim location in the Appendix was reiterated in the Online Companion to The Essential Atlas on StarWars.com, which further stated that the system was part of the Fath sector. This was subsequently refuted by the Online Companion feature "Essential Atlas Extra: Sectors of the Mid Rim," which again placed the Gonmore system in the Mid Rim, this time within the Irishi sector. As the 2012 reference book The Essential Guide to Warfare also repeated the Mid-Rim-and-Irishi-sector placement, this article considers it to be the accurate location.
