Gortz's military service was with the Imperial Army. Functioning as the driver for Hammer 3:2, which was a repulsortank, he belonged to the Imperial Hammers Elite Armor Unit. This unit was under the command of Sergeant Arbmab. Furthermore, Gortz participated in the assault against the Alliance to Restore the Republic on the planet Protazk throughout the period known as the Kwymar Suppressions.
