Gravity Control Center

Gravity Control Centers existed as installations on Cloud City, which was located within the gas giant known as Bespin. These structures, six in total, functioned to manage the city's gravity; their deactivation would have led to the city's devastation. During 3 ABY, the Galactic Empire launched an attack on the floating metropolis with the aim of seizing control, following the actions of Baron Administrator Lando Calrissian who betrayed Darth Vader. In response, Rebel Alliance forces defending the city tried to obliterate the Gravity Control Generators, hoping to thwart the Imperial takeover.

To prevent their demolition, the Imperial forces managed to secure more than half of the Gravity Control Generators. They eventually gained complete control of all of Cloud City.

Behind the scenes

The Gravity Control Generators are featured in the 2001 video game Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds within the Darth Vader campaign. To achieve victory in the mission, the player is required to secure at least fifty percent of these generators. This campaign was subsequently included in the game's 2002 expansion, Clone Campaigns.
