The Great Arctic Skra'akan, a terrifying aquatic hunter, originated from the polar seas of the ocean planet Mon Calamari. Due to its ability to hunt in the deep, dark waters, sightings were infrequent, leading to its existence remaining largely unknown.
Its features included enormous, luminous yellow eyes, each pupil being as large as a Human's head. A lengthy head housed a massive mouth filled with formidable, pointed teeth. This head was connected to a long, flexible neck. A scaly, armored exterior protected its bulky central body, which was adorned with tentacles. Each tentacle was rumored to be comparable in size to a space station's docking cable. Encounters with these enormous beasts were rarely survived. Counterintuitively, spotting one was considered a sign of good fortune, a sentiment that Anja Gallandro, a survivor, questioned upon hearing this, stating, "Well, we're lucky to be alive. Does that count?" In 24 ABY, Jedi members Cilghal, Jacen Solo, Tenel Ka, Zekk, and passenger Anja Gallandro, were on a mission to eliminate a hidden supply of andris spice beneath a polar ice cap. They were traveling in the Mon Calamari submersible called the Elfa, when they encountered a Great Arctic Skra'akan.
