During the events of Operation Shadow Hand, the commanding officer of Green Squadron was a humanoid pilot known by the callsign Green Leader. In the year 10 ABY, Green Leader and his squadron found themselves situated in the Ottega system, with orders to meet the New Republic troopship named Pelagia, so they could participate in the siege targeting an Imperial Galactic Rim shipyard.
As Green Squadron moved to dock with the Pelagia, Emperor Palpatine launched a particle disintegrator warhead at the Pelagia using the Galaxy Gun superweapon. Despite their best efforts to eliminate the incoming missile, Green Leader and his squadron failed to breach its protective shields, resulting in the destruction of the Pelagia by the warhead.
