Grond was a male Human who served in the Alliance Military's 4th Squad during the time of the Galactic Civil War. This squad was led by Corporal Jobin.
4th Squad found themselves positioned at Echo Station 5-7 during the Battle of Hoth. Grond observed that snowtroopers and an All Terrain Scout Transport were launching an assault on the ion cannon situated near the South Entrance. Along with Sora, Grond received orders to circle around the Imperial forces and engage them from behind. Meanwhile, Jobin, Roj, and another soldier were tasked with confronting the Imperials directly. Although they succeeded in destroying the AT-ST, the stormtroopers had already breached the ion cannon and eliminated the Rebel personnel inside. Subsequently, they successfully reclaimed the ion cannon. Amidst the intense close-quarters combat, Grond managed to transmit the message, "Imperial troops have entered the base," which prompted Princess Leia to issue the order for the final evacuation of Hoth. During the conflict, both he and the unidentified rebel soldier were fatally shot. Nevertheless, their self-sacrifice enabled the squad to seize back control of the ion cannon and fire upon an Imperial Star Destroyer, thereby facilitating the escape of Rebel transports.
In the Operation Hoth Defensive Event within the 2013 card game application, Star Wars: Force Collection, his spoken line was reassigned to Toryn Farr as an introduction to Raid Battles.
