A Habitation dome represented a man-made, self-contained ecosystem, designed to facilitate living in settings unsuitable for natural survival. Equipped with independent life support systems, these self-sufficient ecological units operated without the need for external resource input or output. In the case of Varristad, a mining world under the control of the Offworld Mining Corporartion, expansive habitation domes served as residential areas for the population, necessitated by Varristad's deficient atmosphere.
