Halliava Vurse, a witch of the female persuasion, originated from Dathomir, a planet inhabited by Dathomirians. Despite outwardly appearing loyal to both the Raining Leaves and the subsequent Bright Sun Clan, Vurse secretly functioned as a spy. She collaborated with Vestara Khai, a Sith apprentice, under the direction of the Nightsisters, with the aim of provoking conflict between the two clans and thwarting their alliance. However, Khai double-crossed her, reaching out to her Sith comrades to abduct the other Nightsisters with the intention of incorporating them into the Lost Tribe of Sith. After Luke and Ben Skywalker successfully repelled the Sith, Halliava expressed her contempt for Khai's treachery, which resulted in the newly established Bright Sun Clan exiling Halliava from their presence.
As the Skywalkers, along with Dyon Stadd and a captured Vestara, readied themselves for departure, Halliava made her way toward them, requesting to accompany them in order to exact vengeance upon the Sith. Luke informed her that locating Sith was not their objective, and the method by which she chose to pursue them was her own decision.
She held a strong animosity toward Kaminne Sihn, her former acquaintance, stemming from Kaminne's union with Tasander Dest. This resentment was fueled not only by his male gender but also by his deficiency in the Force.
