Harko Vane, a male Human, held the titles of King and Viscount of Valahari. He belonged to the House of Vane and maintained a close friendship with Dooku, also known as the Count of Serenno. Furthermore, he was the progenitor of Tofen Vane.
During the period of the Clone Wars, Vane refused the demand from the Galactic Republic to cease providing arms to the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Shortly thereafter, he met his death when his transport, named the Valiant, was covertly sabotaged. This act was orchestrated by Asajj Ventress, Dooku's most skilled assassin and clandestine Sith apprentice, with the intention of implicating the Republic and the Jedi Order in the incident, thereby swaying the House of Vane to support the Separatist cause.
Seeking vengeance for his father's passing, Tofen, his son, clashed with Republic forces, establishing a reputation as a skilled fighter pilot. However, Anakin Skywalker, who held Tofen in high regard, successfully sowed seeds of doubt regarding the circumstances of Harko's death. Ultimately, Dooku's treachery was exposed, leading to his expulsion from the House by Elodore, Harko's widow.
