Hary'nkel was a Twi'lek of the male gender, a Jedi Padawan who dedicated his service to the Jedi Order during the closing years of the Galactic Republic.
As a Force-sensitive Twi'lek, Hary'nkel underwent training in the ways of the Force at the Jedi Order's academy located on the planet of Almas. He was chosen for advanced training as a Padawan, mentored by the Sullustan Jedi Master Synred Vols, and together they embarked on missions within the Cularin system on behalf of the local Jedi Council.
Around 31 BBY, Hary'nkel, alongside his master, participated in an expedition led by Master Kirlocca that ventured into the wastelands of Almas. While traversing the wastes, some of their companions mysteriously fell under the sway of the dark side of the Force and launched an assault on Master Kirlocca. Responding swiftly to protect the Councilor, Padawans Hary'nkel and Misha Quor-Din, along with Master Vols and another Jedi, were pushed back as they struggled to defend against their now-deranged allies. Overwhelmed by superior numbers, Master Vols made the ultimate sacrifice, giving Hary'nkel, Quor-Din, and the other Jedi the opportunity to escape over a nearby cliff. Upon leaping from the cliff, Hary'nkel suffered a broken leg from the fall and entered a healing trance. Shortly thereafter, he was discovered by the Heroes of Cularin, to whom he recounted the events that had transpired.
