Heavy Weapons Factory

Siege weapon construction was the purpose of Heavy Weapons Factories, facilities employed by diverse factions throughout the expanse of galactic history. The production of these factories was carried out by either droid labor or organic workers, including species like Glurrgs and Wookiees, requiring an investment of 210 units of carbon and 25 units of ore. Typically, these structures manufactured units such as pummels, anti-air units, and various forms of artillery pieces. Furthermore, Heavy Weapons Factories facilitated the upgrading of these units. Factions such as the Gungans, the Royal Naboo Security Forces, the Trade Federation, the Galactic Republic, the Confederacy of Independent Systems, the Galactic Empire, and the Rebel Alliance each utilized their own distinct variations of these factories.

Known Heavy Weapons Factory types

Galactic Empire

The heavy weapons factories of the Galactic Empire consisted of two structures joined by a bridge. The larger building, situated on the right, had a trapezoidal shape and featured a deck, potentially serving as an observation point or a platform for component placement. Additionally, it incorporated a tower. The left building, shorter in stature, included a small stack. The construction zone was located on the ground between the two buildings, where a levitating, crane-like droid used its arms to assemble various weapons. A spherical device was also present nearby. Consistent with other Imperial facilities, their color scheme was predominantly gray with blue accents.

These facilities were the development sites for the Empire's Mobile Artillery, Heavy Artillery Platforms, All Terrain Anti Aircraft, Heavy All Terrain Anti Aircraft, Energy Pummels, and Heavy Energy Pummels.

Gungan

Reflecting the biomechanical nature of other Gungan structures, the Gungan weapons factories were primarily biomechanical. A sizable pit was positioned to the right of the building, which itself resembled a large sea mesa. A prong extended outward over the pit. A smaller pit was also located near the front of the building. During the initial construction phases, the building featured a starfish and began developing undersea chimneys in the subsequent stages.

Within these factories, Gungan energy catapults, Gungan Heavy Energy Catapults, Raapturs, Large Raapturs, Cerrabores, and Large Cerrabores were maintained and bred.

Rebel Alliance

The Alliance to Restore the Republic's heavy weapons factories were substantial buildings comprising a garage and a compact storage area. A satellite array was integrated into the building for communication purposes. The storage area housed essential components. The garage contained a mechanical arm employed to assemble the various siege weapons.

These facilities served as the development locations for the Rebel Alliance's Artillery, Heavy Artillery, Proton Torpedo Launchers, Heavy Torpedo Launchers, Energy Pummels, and Heavy Energy Pummels.

Royal Naboo Security Forces

Given Naboo's reputation for peace and its correspondingly small military, the Royal Naboo Security Forces' heavy weapons factories were infrequently observed outside of Theed. Nevertheless, numerous such facilities were commissioned and established across Naboo during the Invasion of Naboo.

The construction of these facilities relied on materials gathered by Royal Naboo PKN-49 worker droids, incurring costs of 210 units of carbon and 25 units of ore. Royal pummels, artillery carts, and anti-air hovercraft along with their enhanced versions were designed, constructed, and stored in these factories.

The architecture adhered to the typical Naboo style, featuring at least one smokestack and two buildings adorned with wall ivy, connected by an elevated pathway, and incorporating a maintenance pit with a crane.

Trade Federation

The Trade Federation utilized a brown building incorporating a garage for the upkeep of their various heavy weapons systems. The building also included two smokestacks and an observation balcony.

Wookiee

The Wookiees' heavy weapons factories, at least initially, consisted of two buildings linked by a connecting walkway, and featured a pit for the maintenance of their heavy weaponry.

Galactic Republic

Across the galaxy, the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars, or at least during the Hunt for the Decimator battleground, were ordered to construct these buildings. The buildings had two garages and a maintenance pit, with one being on the second story of one building that was adjoining another building via a walkway.

Confederacy of Independent Systems

Across the galaxy, the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars, or at least during the Hunt for the Decimator battleground, were ordered to construct these buildings. Mirroring other CIS-owned structures, they were largely based on Geonosian architectural designs, showcasing a large pit with a spire emerging from the center, containing a cavern at the top, and adorned with purple patterns.
