Hemes Arbora

The Hemes Arbora were a sentient species originating from the Unknown Regions. Their home was the planet called Carrivar, but they migrated to other worlds, including Umaren'k and ultimately, Osseriton. While they resided on Umaren'k, the sentient world Zonama Sekot entered that star system, which led the indigenous Umaren'k'sa people to adopt many aspects of Hemes Arbora culture.

Biology and appearance

The Hemes Arbora possessed sentience and were classified as a species.

Society and culture

The Hemes Arbora had the ability to travel through space. Although their origins were on the planet Carrivar found within the Unknown Regions, they were a nomadic people who relocated to different planets on multiple occasions.

History

This species began on Carrivar, but they journeyed throughout the Unknown Regions. At one point, they settled on the planet Umaren'k. During their time there, the sentient planet Zonama Sekot traveled into the Umaren'k system. This unusual event caused the native inhabitants of that world, known as the Umaren'k'sa, to integrate significant parts of Hemes Arbora culture into their own. The Hemes Arbora themselves eventually continued their travels, moving on to another world called Osseriton. The Chiss, another species from the Unknown Regions, kept records of the Hemes Arbora's travels in their Expeditionary Library located on the planet Csilla.

The Barabel Jedi Knight named Saba Sebatyne discovered information regarding the Hemes Arbora in 28 ABY. At this time, she was searching the Expeditionary Library for information about Zonama Sekot. Sebatyne believed there was a connection between the cultures of the Umaren'k'sa and the Hemes Arbora, which she linked to the sentient planet's journey through the Umaren'k system.

Behind the scenes

The novel The New Jedi Order: Force Heretic II: Refugee, authored by Sean Williams and Shane Dix and released in 2003 by Del Rey, contains a brief mention of the Hemes Arbora. Within the narrative, the Barabel Saba Sebatyne hypothesizes that the cultures of the Hemes Arbora and the Umaren'k'sa were connected. However, the book does not explicitly identify these two groups as distinct species, nor does it definitively confirm their cultural relationship. Nevertheless, The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia from 2008 identifies the Hemes Arbora as a species and mentions the connection that validates Sebatyne's theory.
