"Hide in Plain Sight," a comic book, was created by a team of talented individuals: Welles Hartley as the writer, the Fillbach Brothers providing the illustrations, Sno Cone Studios, Ltd. handling the coloring, and Michael David Thomas responsible for the lettering. This comic was initially distributed as a standard-sized issue in July of 2004 as part of the Free Comic Book Day event. Later, it was included as a story within Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures Volume 2.
Taking place five months after the events of the First Battle of Geonosis, the comic tells the story of the Battle of Nadiem. The narrative follows Luminara Unduli and her Padawan, Barriss Offee, as they arrive at a small village located on the planet Nadiem. A man attempts to secretly load his possessions onto a transport, defying the instructions given to the villagers. Unduli confronts him and uses the situation to teach Offee the concept of hiding in plain sight. Subsequently, Offee discovers a group of refugees and overhears a clone commandos squad planning to detonate explosives to thwart an approaching force from the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Offee accompanies the clones to the designated location, where they feign death to deceive a CIS scout, effectively concealing themselves in plain sight. Initially believing her Padawan to be dead, Unduli launches an attack against the CIS forces with her own Galactic Republic troops. However, Offee reveals her presence by triggering the trap, leading to the Republic's victory in the battle.
