A map of High Port High Port was a sprawling city in orbit that was geosynchronous. It hovered over the city of Harnaidan on the planet named Muunilinst. A tough skyhook stretched from Harnaidan's towers, securing the station and enabling affordable transit from the planet's surface.
The station functioned as a spaceport, accommodating alien species who wished to conduct business with the Muuns and the InterGalactic Banking Clan. The view greatly impressed these visitors. Muunilinst rotated slowly below, showcasing its beautiful white and gray cloud formations, while shining spacecraft zipped around amidst the sparkling stars. Wealthier and higher-status Muuns sometimes resided here if they could afford it. The station comprised two primary spherical space modules: one dedicated to living quarters and hotel accommodations, and the other to commercial ventures, shops, and vaults. The residential sphere also housed the High Garden, a stunning and peaceful environment featuring local and galactic plant species. A ring of smaller spheres, known as "the Hub," encircled the two larger ones. Among the smaller spheres were the IGBC stardock, the mooring station and repair facilities, a separate sphere containing the power reactor, and a special sphere built during the Galactic Civil War at the request of the Galactic Empire to house Imperial monitors. The Muuns resented the monitors' presence but continued to financially support the Empire.
During the decline of the Galactic Republic, High Port acted as a meeting place for ambitious merchants and politicians plotting to gain a share of the profits from the growing Separatist movement. The Muuns found it beneficial to cater to various alien tastes, including Humans, Hutts, and Herglics. The Iotran Guard maintained order for most of Muunilinst's history. Following the Republic's collapse, Imperials dissolved the Iotran Guard and assumed control of security and most of High Port's operations.
As tensions grew, the Muuns invested in Golan space defense platforms and later upgraded to incorporate Golan III Space Defense NovaGuns. The leadership ensured that visitors at High Port could clearly see two of these formidable platforms.
