Hleua

Hleua existed as a celestial body. Its location was within the Hleua system, which itself was situated in the Eucer sector of the Mid Rim region. During the Tionese War, a conflict between the Galactic Republic and the Honorable Union of Desevro & Tion, Okator VIII, a Republic-settled world, received frequent visits from courier starships originating from Hleua, conducting various business-related tasks.

Near the conclusion of the war, approximately around 23,900 BBY, Tionese armed forces destroyed several Republic settlements located on Okator VIII. A witness to this assault, a farm boy who became a Republic soldier, subsequently recorded an audio-visual depiction of the attack within a Baragwin sense lattice. Within the recording, the soldier pointed out that the engines of the attacking Tionjack warships produced a distinctive sound, setting them apart from the ships that typically visited Okator VIII, such as the couriers arriving from Hleua.

Behind the scenes

Originally, Hleua was intended to be referenced within The Essential Guide to Warfare, a reference book from 2012 authored by Jason Fry and Paul R. Urquhart. However, the specific section that would have included the astronomical object was removed before the book's publication.

Subsequently, the details concerning Hleua were made public in 2014 as part of Star Wars: The Essential Guide to Warfare Author's Cut. This was a collection of articles posted on the StarWars.com Blog by Fry and Erich Schoeneweiss, featuring various pieces of content that had been omitted from The Essential Guide to Warfare. The Online Companion to The Essential Atlas, a reference book from 2009, pinpointed the Hleua system, and therefore Hleua itself, within grid square Q-7.
