The planet Coruscant sometimes experienced a type of holographic snow known as Holo-snow. This precipitation was a consequence of the controlled weather systems managed by elemental engines. Around 232 BBY, during the Solstice Tide celebrations, Jedi Master Stellan Gios opted to spend a few minutes on Republic Avenue to witness the first predicted flakes of this snow. Before the anticipated snowfall could commence, Gios was drawn away by a disturbance in the Force created by the thief Nittel Karkson, leading him to give chase. During this pursuit, Gios was briefly halted by an intoxicated Besalisk celebrating the Solstice; as they conversed, the holo-snow began to descend, much to the Besalisk's delight, despite the weather being a certainty. As Gios continued his pursuit of Karkson into Coruscant's underlevels, the holo-snow persisted in its descent.
The short story "A Coruscant Solstice," penned by Cavan Scott and featured in the Life Day Treasury anthology of 2021, introduced Holo-snow.
